Blockchain & Web3 Development Services We Offer in Canberra
Canberra Web3 demand is structurally different from any other Australian city — almost every workload is public sector, defence, or defence-adjacent, and almost every workload requires sovereign Australian hosting and cleared personnel. We deliver permissioned ledgers on Hyperledger Besu and Fabric for Commonwealth identity, document provenance, and inter-agency reconciliation, tokenised carbon and offset registries for the Clean Energy Regulator and Department of Climate Change supply chain, and digital credential infrastructure (verifiable credentials on the W3C VC and DID standards) for ATO, Services Australia, and DFAT consular use cases. Public chain work is rare in Canberra and requires explicit risk acceptance from the agency CIO. We also deliver smart contract security reviews for federal agencies evaluating procurement of third-party blockchain platforms. Fixed-fee proposals always, with Commonwealth Standard Contract Provisions (CSPP) clauses pre-accepted where the agency requires.
Our Blockchain & Web3 Development Development Process
Discovery starts with a PSPF and ISM alignment workshop and a classification check on the data in scope. INFORMATION classified PROTECTED, SECRET, or TOP SECRET drives the hosting region, the personnel clearance level, and whether the workload can use any commercial blockchain at all. For PROTECTED workloads we default to Azure Australia Central 1 or Central 2 (Canberra) under the Hosting Certification Framework Certified Sovereign tier, or to Vault Cloud's IRAP PROTECTED platform. For SECRET workloads we deliver on agency-owned infrastructure with ASD endorsement, and most public chain options are excluded. Build sprints are two weeks on AEST, reviewed against the Essential Eight maturity model, the ISM December 2024 release, and the agency's own ICT security policy. Deployment includes Comcover risk acceptance documentation, an ANAO-defensible audit trail, an Algorithm Charter-style transparency memo where the workload makes determinations affecting citizens, and a documented exit plan that the agency CIO and the Department of Finance Digital Investment Review accept.
Blockchain Strategy
1-2 WeeksWe evaluate whether blockchain is the right fit, select the optimal chain, define tokenomics, and architect the decentralized system.
Smart Contract Design
2-3 WeeksDesign smart contract architecture, define data structures, and map out contract interactions with detailed technical specifications.
Development & Testing
4-8 WeeksWrite and test smart contracts with 100% test coverage. Build the frontend dApp with wallet connection, transaction handling, and blockchain event listeners.
Security Audit
2-3 WeeksComprehensive smart contract audit including automated vulnerability scanning, manual code review, and formal verification of critical functions.
Mainnet Launch
1-2 WeeksDeploy verified contracts to mainnet, configure monitoring, set up multisig governance, and launch with community engagement support.
Technologies We Use for Blockchain & Web3 Development
Sovereignty drives the Canberra stack. Azure Australia Central 1 and Central 2 (Canberra) are our default for IRAP PROTECTED workloads, with AWS ap-southeast-2 (Sydney) and ap-southeast-4 (Melbourne) used where PROTECTED is acceptable but Australia Central is not required. Vault Cloud and Sliced Tech provide the Hosting Certification Framework Certified Sovereign tier where Microsoft and Amazon's commercial offerings do not fit. Hyperledger Besu and Fabric are our default permissioned networks because validator identity is part of the trust model, source code is auditable, and the operational profile fits Commonwealth procurement. EVM tooling (Solidity, Foundry, Hardhat) is standard, with Anchor and Rust used for any Solana-based workload (rare in Canberra). Smart contract security uses Slither, Mythril, Foundry fuzz tests, manual review against the SCSVS, and an external audit budget where contracts touch custody. Key management uses Thales HSMs accredited to ASD's Common Criteria EAL4+ list, with no software-only key storage on PROTECTED workloads.
