Service Overview

Product Design Solutions for Atlanta Businesses

Atlanta has built a product design culture that runs from Coca-Cola packaging archives on North Avenue to the SaaS dashboards shipping out of Tech Square. Mailchimp (acquired by Intuit for $12B in 2021) set the local bar for friendly, accessible B2B UX, OneTrust scaled a privacy console used by half the Fortune 500 from its Sandy Springs HQ, Calendly built scheduling design used by 20M+ users from Buckhead, Cox Automotive ships dealer and consumer tooling across Autotrader and Kelley Blue Book, Home Depot runs one of the largest retail and trade app design teams in the South from Vinings, Delta Air Lines operates an in-house product design org for Fly Delta and crew tooling, and the CDC sets accessibility patterns for federal public health interfaces. Codazz designs production-grade web and mobile products for Atlanta founders, enterprise platforms, public health programs, and creator economy companies inside that lineage. We run discovery, IA, interaction design, visual systems, prototyping, accessibility, and design-to-engineering handoff from our Edmonton and Chandigarh hubs on ET, deliver Figma libraries, design tokens, and WCAG 2.2 AA audits, and document decisions for procurement at Delta, Cox, Emory Healthcare, and the Georgia Technology Authority. Georgia has no state income tax cap on services (5.39% flat individual rate, 5.75% corporate), and Atlanta carries the largest concentration of Black-owned design firms in the United States, which we acknowledge openly when scoping inclusive research panels. Pricing is USD and fixed-fee, not open T and M.

What We Build

Product Design Services We Offer in Atlanta

Atlanta product design buyers expect more than a Dribbble portfolio. Mailchimp\'s Cathy Edwards-era design system, OneTrust\'s consent and DSAR console, Calendly\'s booking flows, and Home Depot\'s pro app set the standard for what "good" looks like in the metro. Our services match that bar. We deliver user research (moderated and unmoderated, recruited through UserTesting ATL panels and Georgia State labs), information architecture, interaction design, visual identity tied to brand systems, motion specs, and Figma libraries that engineering teams at Cox Automotive, Delta, and Mailchimp-style SaaS startups can hand to React, Swift, and Kotlin builds without translation overhead. Every engagement includes a WCAG 2.2 AA audit, Section 508 conformance for federal and CDC-adjacent work, and a design tokens spec compatible with Style Dictionary and Tokens Studio.

Industry Expertise

Product Design for Atlanta's Key Industries

Atlanta product demand concentrates in five verticals we have shipped against. In SaaS and fintech, Mailchimp, Calendly, OneTrust, Salesloft, Greenlight, Kabbage (Amex), and Bakkt set patterns for B2B and consumer financial UX. In media and entertainment, Turner (Warner Bros. Discovery), Cox Media Group, and the Tyler Perry Studios pipeline drive content tooling, OTT apps, and creator dashboards. In healthcare, Emory Healthcare, Piedmont, Children\'s Healthcare of Atlanta, and the CDC drive HIPAA-aware clinical and public health design with mandatory Section 508 compliance for federally funded work. In logistics and retail, Home Depot, UPS (Sandy Springs), Delta, NCR Voyix, and Chick-fil-A run national-scale retail, trade, and travel apps. In civic and education, Georgia Tech, Georgia State, the Atlanta BeltLine, and the Georgia Technology Authority procure design under state RFP rules. We also work with the Atlanta creator economy founders coming out of Goodie Nation and Russell Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

Our Process

Our Product Design Development Process

We run discovery, design, and validation on ET so Atlanta product, engineering, and brand leads get synchronous Figma reviews and standups, not overnight handoffs. Discovery opens with a stakeholder map (PM, engineering, brand, accessibility, legal) and a heuristic review of the incumbent product against Nielsen Norman and Atlanta-specific competitors. Research sprints recruit panels reflecting metro demographics, including the Black, Latino, and Korean American communities that the CDC and Emory routinely cite as underrepresented in product testing. Design sprints are two weeks, reviewed against a tokens-first system rather than ad-hoc screens. Handoff includes a Figma dev mode walkthrough, a Storybook starter, and an a11y test plan that QA at Cox, Delta, or Home Depot-scale teams can execute against axe-core and VoiceOver without rework.

Technologies We Use for Product Design

Atlanta design stacks are pragmatic. We default to Figma for design and prototyping, FigJam for workshops, Maze and UserTesting for unmoderated research, Lookback for moderated sessions, and Dovetail for synthesis. Design systems land in Figma Libraries with Tokens Studio, exported through Style Dictionary into Tailwind, Chakra, Material, or custom React Native components. Motion specs use Rive or Lottie when engineering wants runtime control. Accessibility tooling includes axe DevTools, Stark, Able, and manual VoiceOver, TalkBack, and NVDA testing. For Section 508 and CDC-adjacent work we run Trusted Tester protocols. Prototypes for hardware-adjacent products (Delta crew tablets, Home Depot in-aisle scanners) ship as Figma Variables with conditional logic so engineering can validate state machines before native build.

Why Choose Us

Why Atlanta Businesses Choose Codazz for Product Design

We combine world-class engineering with local market understanding to deliver product design solutions that drive real business outcomes.

🥤

Coca-Cola to Mailchimp Heritage

Atlanta product design runs from Coca-Cola\'s century-old visual archive to Mailchimp\'s $12B Intuit acquisition, OneTrust\'s privacy console, and Calendly\'s 20M+ user scheduling UX. We design inside that lineage with research, IA, and Figma systems that match the local standard for B2B and consumer SaaS shipping out of Tech Square.

Section 508 & CDC Ready

CDC, HHS, and Georgia Technology Authority procurement require Section 508 conformance against WCAG 2.2 AA. We deliver VPAT 2.5 reports, Trusted Tester walkthroughs, axe-core CI integration, and USWDS-compatible patterns so federally funded Atlanta programs clear accessibility review on first submission.

🎨

Inclusive Research Panels

Atlanta metro is 50% Black with significant Latino and Korean American populations, and the city anchors the largest concentration of Black-owned design firms in the US. Our research panels reflect this through UserInterviews quotas, Goodie Nation partnerships, and AUC HBCU recruitment, not generic UserTesting samples.

🏢

Enterprise Procurement Cleared

Delta, Cox Enterprises, Home Depot, UPS, and NCR Voyix run rigorous vendor gates. We ship with COIs, SOC 2 control summaries, background-checked staff for onsite work, and Figma libraries that plug into existing design system governance (Fly Delta, Home Depot OneApp, Cox shared components) without a rewrite.

📍

Local Expertise

Our team understands the regulatory landscape, business culture, and user expectations specific to your city. We combine global engineering standards with hyper-local market knowledge to build products that resonate with your target audience from day one.

Frequently Asked Questions About Product Design in Atlanta

Have a question not listed here? Reach out to our team and we will get back to you within 4 hours.

Ask a Question

Design budgets in Atlanta are governed by how many surfaces have to stay consistent after the work ships. Engagements run from a scoped Atlanta product design engagement over six to ten weeks for discovery plus a v1 design system and core flows, a full B2B SaaS console redesign in the Mailchimp or OneTrust complexity tier including research, IA, visual system, Figma library, accessibility audit, and engineering handoff, or an enterprise program at Delta, Cox, or Home Depot scale (multi-product systems, design ops, governance). Atlanta rates sit below New York and San Francisco but above Charlotte and Nashville because of the Mailchimp, Calendly, OneTrust talent premium. We give fixed-fee proposals, not open T and M.

Yes. Federally funded work in Atlanta (CDC, HHS contracts, Georgia state agencies) requires Section 508 conformance against WCAG 2.2 AA. Our process includes axe-core automated testing, manual VoiceOver, TalkBack, NVDA, and JAWS testing, keyboard-only walkthroughs, color contrast verification, and a Trusted Tester protocol for high-stakes flows. Deliverables include a VPAT 2.5 Rev 508 conformance report and a remediation log if any non-conformances remain. We have patterned this against CDC.gov design system rules and the U.S. Web Design System (USWDS) so federal procurement reviewers accept the package on first submission.

Yes. We design tokens-first using Tokens Studio inside Figma, export through Style Dictionary into JSON, CSS variables, Tailwind config, or React Native StyleSheet, and wire components into Storybook so engineering at Cox Automotive, Delta-scale teams, or Mailchimp-style SaaS shops can consume the system without translation. We document component contracts (props, states, slots, a11y attributes), provide Figma Dev Mode walkthroughs, and pair-design with engineering during the first two sprints to make sure the system is buildable, not just beautiful. Output is compatible with Chakra, Material, Mantine, or custom systems.

Atlanta\'s metro is roughly 50% Black, 13% Latino, with significant Korean American and Vietnamese American communities in Gwinnett and DeKalb. Generic UserTesting panels often miss this distribution. We recruit through UserInterviews and Respondent.io with explicit quotas reflecting Atlanta demographics, partner with Goodie Nation and the Russell Center when products target Black founders or consumers, and use Georgia State University\'s research participant pool for academic-adjacent studies. Synthesis runs in Dovetail with demographic tagging so PMs can see which themes hold across segments. For CDC and Emory work we follow IRB protocols and obtain informed consent suitable for federally funded research.

Atlanta carries the largest concentration of Black-owned design firms in the United States, anchored by organizations like AIGA Atlanta\'s Diversity in Design programs, the Russell Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Goodie Nation, and the historically Black colleges and universities in the Atlanta University Center (Spelman, Morehouse, Clark Atlanta). We acknowledge this openly. Our research panels reflect it, we cite local Black design leadership (Mailchimp\'s former Cathy Edwards era, Greenlight\'s design team) when relevant, and we partner with HBCU career programs for junior pipeline. We are not a Black-owned firm ourselves, and we say so plainly when clients ask.

Yes. Enterprise Atlanta procurement (Delta, Cox Enterprises, Home Depot, UPS, NCR Voyix) expects a master services agreement, certificates of insurance (general liability, professional liability, cyber), a SOC 2 attestation or equivalent control summary, background-checked staff for any onsite work, and a documented design ops process. We have shipped to those gates. Deliverables align with internal design system governance (Home Depot\'s OneApp patterns, Delta\'s Fly Delta system, Cox\'s shared component library) when clients give us access, and we hand off through whatever PLM or Jira workflow the enterprise PMO mandates.

A focused B2B SaaS design system (foundations, tokens, 30 to 50 core components, two product surfaces) takes ten to sixteen weeks from kickoff to v1 release, assuming a single brand and a committed engineering partner. Week 1 to 3 is audit, tokens, and foundations. Week 4 to 10 is component design, Storybook wiring, and a11y validation. Week 11 to 14 is product surface application and dev handoff. Week 15 to 16 is governance documentation and contribution workflow. We have shipped to this cadence for Mailchimp-tier and Calendly-tier complexity. Larger multi-brand systems (Cox-scale, Delta-scale) take six to nine months.

Georgia charges a 5.39% flat individual income tax (2024 rate, dropping to 4.99% by 2029) and 5.75% corporate income tax, both below national medians, with no city or county income tax in Atlanta. Services are generally not subject to Georgia sales tax, so our design fees ship without sales tax unless we deliver tangible personal property (printed deliverables). For clients headquartered in Georgia, this typically nets a cleaner total cost than New York or California-based design firms. We invoice in USD, accept ACH and wire, and provide W-9 documentation for 1099 reporting. International clients route through our Canadian or Indian entities under the appropriate tax treaty.
