The challenge
The catalogue needed to render fast enough to hold visitors from paid traffic, while checkout had to stay on Shopify's proven payment infrastructure rather than being rebuilt.
What we built
- Headless architecture: Next.js storefront for speed and design control, Shopify retained for inventory, orders and fulfilment.
- Product pages statically generated and revalidated on change, so catalogue browsing does not wait on an API round trip.
- Stripe integrated for payment handling, keeping card data outside the application's compliance scope.
- Cart state persisted across sessions so a returning visitor resumes rather than restarts.
Outcome
A storefront that loads like a static site and transacts like a commerce platform, without rebuilding payment infrastructure.
