The challenge
Design studios sell on visual work, but image-heavy sites are usually slow — and a slow gallery loses the visitor before the portfolio has rendered. The brief was to keep the imagery at full quality without paying for it in load time.
What we built
- Rebuilt on Next.js with static generation, so pages are served pre-rendered rather than assembled per request.
- Responsive image pipeline with modern formats and explicit dimensions, which removes layout shift while the gallery loads.
- Scroll-driven motion using GSAP, kept off the critical rendering path so animation never delays first paint.
- Enquiry form placed within reach at every scroll depth rather than only in the footer.
Outcome
A portfolio site that renders quickly on mobile connections and routes visitors to an enquiry without leaving the page they were reading.
