The challenge
A media studio is judged on its showreel, but autoplaying video is the most expensive thing a page can do — and the visitors who leave are the ones who never saw the work.
What we built
- Video loaded on intent rather than on page load, with poster frames carrying the visual weight until then.
- Scroll-driven animation via GSAP and Framer Motion, tuned to stay smooth on mid-range mobile hardware.
- Static generation so the first paint does not wait on any data fetch.
- Project pages structured so each piece of work is reachable directly, not only through the reel.
Outcome
The showreel loads when a visitor wants it rather than on arrival, so the work is seen instead of waited for.
