The challenge
A long-established operator running on spreadsheets and phone calls needed a system that matched how dispatchers already worked — otherwise it would not be used.
What we built
- Load records as the central object, mirroring the operator's existing mental model rather than imposing a new one.
- MapBox integration for route visibility across active jobs.
- MongoDB for flexible job records, because freight jobs vary more in shape than a rigid schema tolerates.
- Built mobile-first for drivers, desktop-dense for dispatch — two different interfaces over one data model.
Outcome
Dispatch, driver and job history live in one system, replacing the spreadsheet-and-phone workflow without retraining the team.
