The challenge
Load assignment was being handled over phone and text, which meant no record of who agreed to what and repeated calls to confirm status.
What we built
- Load lifecycle modelled explicitly — intake, assignment, in transit, delivered — so status is a property rather than a phone call.
- MongoDB for job records, accommodating the variation between load types without schema churn.
- Delivery confirmation captured against the load record, creating the paper trail invoicing depends on.
- Built for the operator's existing terminology instead of generic logistics vocabulary.
Outcome
Assignment and delivery status live in one record, replacing the call-and-confirm loop that previously ran every job.
