How the score works

Every question has three answers worth 0, 1 or 2 points, and every question carries the same weight. Use case has three questions (6 points), Data has two (4 points), Process has two (4 points) and Risk has three (6 points), for 20 points in total.

15 to 20 points: ready for a scoped proof of concept. 8 to 14 points: fix the gaps first; we show your two weakest areas, ranked by the share of points you scored in each. 0 to 7 points: start with automation or data work before an agent.

The score is a starting point for a conversation, not a guarantee. Once a use case scores well, model its payback with the AI Agent ROI Calculator.

AI agent readiness FAQ

What score means a use case is ready for an AI agent?

A score of 15 to 20 out of 20 means the use case is clear, the data is reachable and the process has owners, so a scoped proof of concept is a sensible next step. 8 to 14 means fix the two weakest areas first. 0 to 7 means start with workflow automation or data work.

Why does shadow mode matter so much?

In shadow mode the agent suggests and a person acts. You measure accuracy on real work without the cost of a live mistake, which is the safest way to prove an agent before it acts on its own.
