Rapida · Delivery Service Platform
A high-performance delivery platform with real-time tracking and immersive 3D visualizations.
Columbus mobile work falls into four categories with genuinely different engineering profiles. Sensor and telematics apps, the Root pattern, need background location and motion collection that survives iOS and Android power management, batched and compressed upload, on-device pre-processing, and a permission story that a user will actually accept, since a denied always-allow location permission kills the product outright. Regulated account apps for banks and insurers need biometric and passkey authentication, device binding, jailbreak and root detection, certificate pinning, secure storage in Keychain and Keystore, and session handling that meets federal authentication expectations without making the daily login miserable. Patient-facing health apps need HIPAA-grade handling of protected health information on a device you do not control, which means no PHI in logs, no PHI in analytics payloads, screenshot and backup policy, remote wipe on lost devices, and clean integration into Epic or the system of record through FHIR and SMART on FHIR. Commerce and loyalty apps need offline resilience, fast cold start, payment integration, push notification strategy that does not train users to disable notifications, and deep links that resolve correctly from every campaign. We also do workforce and field apps for distribution, manufacturing, and logistics, where offline-first is the whole design.
Mobile has a release constraint that web does not, so we plan around it from the start: once a version is in a user's hand you cannot take it back, and a meaningful share of your users will not upgrade for months. Discovery therefore includes a supported-version policy, a forced-upgrade mechanism, and a server API versioning contract before any screen is designed. We also decide framework early, and we decide it on evidence rather than preference: React Native with Expo when the app is primarily screens, forms, and network calls, which covers most account, commerce, and content apps, and native Swift and Kotlin when the app lives on continuous sensors, background processing, complex platform integration, or extreme performance, which is where telematics and some health work lands. Sprints are two weeks with Thursday demos at 2:00 PM ET on real devices distributed through TestFlight and Google Play internal testing, not simulators, because simulators hide the battery, thermal, and permission behaviour that decides whether the app survives. Our Edmonton leads join at 6:30 AM MT for an 8:30 AM ET standup and Chandigarh runs the overnight build and device-lab window. Before submission we run an accessibility pass with VoiceOver and TalkBack, a store-review readiness check against Apple's guidelines and Google Play data safety, and a crash and performance baseline.
We analyze your target audience, competitors, and business goals to define the app's feature set, technology stack, and go-to-market strategy.
Our designers craft intuitive wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes following platform-specific design guidelines for iOS and Android.
Agile sprint-based development with bi-weekly demos. We integrate APIs, third-party services, analytics, and backend infrastructure.
Comprehensive testing across devices and OS versions including functional, performance, security, and user acceptance testing.
We handle App Store and Play Store submissions, configure analytics, set up crash reporting, and provide post-launch monitoring.
React Native with Expo is our default for cross-platform work, using the New Architecture, Expo Router for navigation, expo-updates for over-the-air fixes within store rules, and EAS Build for reproducible builds. Native modules get written in Swift and Kotlin whenever a bridge would be the wrong abstraction. For sensor-heavy products we go native: Core Motion and Core Location with significant-change and region monitoring on iOS, and the Fused Location Provider with foreground services and WorkManager on Android, plus batched upload so the radio is not woken for every sample. State and data layers use TanStack Query with an offline persister, WatermelonDB or SQLite for genuinely offline-first apps, and MMKV or Keychain and Keystore depending on sensitivity. Authentication uses passkeys and platform biometrics with device binding, and OAuth flows through ASWebAuthenticationSession and Custom Tabs rather than embedded web views, which app review rejects anyway. Backends run in AWS us-east-2, which is US East (Ohio) and physically in central Ohio, or Google Cloud us-east5, the Columbus region, so round trips stay short for the local user base. Azure has no Ohio region, so Microsoft-aligned teams originate from Illinois or Virginia. Observability is Sentry or Firebase Crashlytics plus OpenTelemetry, with strict scrubbing rules so no protected health information or account data reaches a crash report.
