Product Design Services We Offer in Abu Dhabi
Our product design work in Abu Dhabi covers four things. Discovery and research means recruiting and running sessions with the actual population that uses the product, which in this city means deliberate quotas across Emirati nationals and the major expatriate communities, in Arabic and English and often in a third language, rather than a convenience sample of colleagues. Product definition covers service blueprints, journey maps and information architecture, which matters most for government and regulated services where the digital journey has to reconcile with an in-person step, a physical document or a third-party approval. Interface design means a bilingual design system built from the start: tokens that carry logical properties rather than left and right, type scales tuned separately for Arabic and Latin, and components documented with their mirrored behaviour. Design engineering means we hand over something a developer can build without guessing, including Figma libraries wired to code tokens, Storybook implementations of the components with RTL variants, and written rules for the cases that always break, such as mixed-direction strings, numerals, dates and truncation.
Our Product Design Development Process
We start with a bidirectional audit, even on a greenfield product, because the decisions that make Arabic work are made in week one and are painful to retrofit. That audit sets the numeral policy, the date policy including whether Hijri dates appear alongside Gregorian, the type stack for both scripts, the mirroring rules and the copy expansion budget. Research follows, and the debrief happens on the same day as the session rather than the following week, which is most of the difference between research that changes a design and research that decorates a deck. Chandigarh's 1.5 hour offset from Gulf Standard Time is what makes that turnaround ordinary rather than heroic. We design in Arabic and English in parallel rather than designing in English and localising later, because the second approach reliably produces an Arabic version that looks like a translation of a foreign product. Prototypes are tested in both directions with users of both languages. Accessibility is checked continuously against WCAG 2.2 AA, including colour contrast, target size, focus order in a mirrored layout and screen reader behaviour with Arabic content, which is where most teams discover their component library was never tested. Handover includes a written localisation and mirroring specification, not just a Figma link.
Research & Discovery
1-2 WeeksWe conduct stakeholder interviews, competitive analysis, user surveys, and analytics review to understand your users' needs, pain points, and goals.
Information Architecture
1-2 WeeksWe define the content structure, navigation patterns, and user flows that form the backbone of an intuitive user experience.
Wireframing & Prototyping
2-3 WeeksCreate low and mid-fidelity wireframes for key screens, then build interactive prototypes for stakeholder review and usability testing.
Visual Design
3-4 WeeksApply visual styling, micro-interactions, and animations to create polished, high-fidelity designs that reflect your brand and delight users.
Design Handoff
1 WeekWe prepare developer-ready assets with detailed specifications, export all design tokens, and support your engineering team during implementation.
Technologies We Use for Product Design
Design lives in Figma with a variables-based token layer split into primitives and semantic tokens, so a theme change or a direction change does not require touching component internals. Tokens export to code through Style Dictionary or an equivalent pipeline so the design system and the implementation cannot drift silently. Implementation uses CSS logical properties throughout, which means inline-start and inline-end rather than left and right, plus the dir attribute on the document rather than a duplicated right-to-left stylesheet, which is the pattern that always rots. Typefaces are chosen from families with genuinely designed Arabic cuts rather than a Latin family with an automatic fallback: IBM Plex Sans Arabic and Noto Sans Arabic are safe open options, and licensed families including the Dubai font family and commercial Arabic faces are used where brand requires it, with licensing confirmed before the design is signed off. Components are built and documented in Storybook with an explicit RTL variant per component. Prototypes and usability sessions run on Maze or moderated over video. Accessibility testing uses axe plus manual screen reader passes with VoiceOver and NVDA against Arabic content, because automated tools miss bidirectional reading order problems entirely.
