Service Overview

ERP Development Solutions for Atlanta Businesses

Georgia moves physical goods at a scale that punishes a weak ERP. The Georgia Ports Authority runs Savannah and Brunswick plus three inland container facilities, Norfolk Southern is headquartered in Atlanta and operates 19,420 route miles across 22 eastern states, UPS runs global supply chain management from Sandy Springs, and Delta operates the world's largest airline hub at Hartsfield-Jackson. The Home Depot, Genuine Parts with roughly 60,000 employees, Georgia-Pacific, Coca-Cola and Chick-fil-A all run distribution networks whose economics live inside inventory, procurement and cost accounting modules. Manufacturing arrived in force: Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America in Ellabell, Bryan County, is a 7.6 billion dollar campus with more than 16 million square feet of factory floor about 25 miles west of Savannah, and the Kia assembly plant in West Point anchors a tier-one and tier-two supplier base spread along the I-85 and I-16 corridors. Aerospace and defense add a different constraint entirely: Lockheed Martin builds in Marietta, and Robins Air Force Base sits about 100 miles south-southeast of Atlanta with the Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex and its supplier network. The Georgia film industry, with Trilith Studios running 34 soundstages on a 700-acre site and Tyler Perry Studios on the 330-acre former Fort McPherson site, needs production accounting rigorous enough to survive a state tax credit audit against the 20 percent base plus 10 percent uplift structure. Codazz builds and remediates ERP for these buyers. We say the regulatory position plainly: Georgia has not enacted a comprehensive consumer privacy law, so what actually binds your ERP is SOX and US GAAP if you are public, ITAR and CMMC if you touch defense work, FDA Part 11 if you make regulated product, Georgia breach notification at O.C.G.A. 10-1-910 to 10-1-912, and the privacy laws of every other state your workforce and customers live in. Our engineers work Eastern hours from Edmonton, two hours behind Atlanta, with overnight coverage from Chandigarh. Codazz has no Atlanta office. Founded 2018, 500 plus projects delivered, 200 plus engineers, +1 (403) 604-8692.

What We Build

ERP Development Services We Offer in Atlanta

ERP engagements in metro Atlanta arrive in three shapes and we scope them differently. The first is a genuine implementation, usually a distributor or manufacturer moving off a twenty-year-old system where the real deliverable is a defensible chart of accounts, a clean item master and a cutover that does not lose inventory. The second is extension work on a platform the client already owns, which is where most of our hours go: custom modules for costing methods the vendor does not support, warehouse and yard logic, EDI onboarding for a new retail or automotive trading partner, plant-floor integration, and reporting that finance actually trusts. The third is remediation, where an implementation went live badly and the business is running on parallel spreadsheets. Across all three we treat master data as the primary deliverable rather than a data migration task, because item master, bill of materials, customer and vendor records determine whether every downstream module works. We build integrations to warehouse management, transportation management, MES, CAD and PLM systems, and to the tax, banking and customs endpoints that a Georgia importer or exporter needs. Every engagement ships a documented interface catalogue, reconciliation reports and a rollback plan.

Industry Expertise

ERP Development for Atlanta's Key Industries

Automotive and battery manufacturing around the Hyundai Metaplant and the Kia plant in West Point runs on sequenced supply, just-in-time delivery windows and supplier EDI that fails loudly. We build the ASN, kanban and consignment logic and the exception handling that a tier-one supplier needs when a truck is late. Distribution and wholesale, the Genuine Parts and Home Depot supplier pattern, needs multi-echelon inventory, landed cost and vendor rebate accrual done correctly, because rebate misstatement is a recurring audit finding. Aerospace and defense suppliers to Lockheed Martin in Marietta and to the Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex carry export control and CMMC obligations that shape system architecture before a single module is configured. Food and beverage operations inherit FDA traceability expectations under the Food Traceability Rule at 21 CFR Part 1 Subpart S, where lot and sublot genealogy has to survive both directions through the ERP. Building products and forest products, the Georgia-Pacific pattern, need dimensional and grade-based inventory that most stock item masters cannot express. Film and television production accounting around Trilith Studios and Tyler Perry Studios needs cost coding granular enough to support a Georgia entertainment tax credit claim, where the base credit is 20 percent with a further 10 percent uplift and a 500,000 dollar minimum annual spend.

Our Process

Our ERP Development Development Process

We run Eastern Time because plant and distribution center schedules do not move for a vendor. The core standup is 9 AM ET, which is 7 AM in Edmonton where our engineers sit, and Chandigarh covers the overnight window so an issue raised at end of shift in Atlanta has been worked before the next morning. Discovery is a fit-gap run against actual transactions, not a workshop against a slide deck: we pull a month of real orders, receipts, work orders and journal entries and walk each one end to end. That produces a gap register with three columns, configure, extend or change the process, and we push hard toward the third because customization is what makes an ERP unupgradeable five years later. Design freezes before build. Build runs in two-week sprints with a demo Thursdays at 2 PM ET against a conference room pilot environment loaded with the client's own data. Two full mock cutovers happen before go-live, each with a timed inventory count, a general ledger reconciliation and an abort decision point. Go-live is by site or by legal entity wherever the business allows it, never a single flag across the whole enterprise. Hypercare runs six weeks with an engineer on Eastern hours and a daily reconciliation report to the controller.

Technology

Technologies We Use for ERP Development

Platform choice follows the business, not our preference. SAP S/4HANA, usually through RISE with SAP, is where large Atlanta manufacturers and multinationals land, and we build to clean core discipline using the SAP Business Technology Platform and CAP rather than modifying standard objects. Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP suits finance-led enterprises, while NetSuite fits mid-market distributors and studios. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management is the right answer for organizations already standardized on Entra ID, Power Platform and Dataverse. Infor CloudSuite and Epicor Kinetic show up in discrete and process manufacturing, Acumatica in construction and distribution, and Odoo where a smaller operation wants full source control. Warehouse execution commonly means Manhattan Associates, headquartered in Atlanta, or Blue Yonder, and we integrate rather than replace. Plant-floor work runs through MES platforms such as Siemens Opcenter and Rockwell FactoryTalk, with OPC UA and MQTT for machine data and Ignition as the SCADA layer. Trading partner integration is ANSI X12 850, 855, 856 and 810 over AS2 or VAN, and EDIFACT for ocean carriers. Middleware is Boomi, MuleSoft, SAP Integration Suite or Workato, with Kafka where event volume justifies it. Analytics land in Snowflake or Databricks. Hosting defaults to AWS us-east-1 with the Atlanta Local Zone us-east-1-atl-2a where a plant or distribution center needs compute closer to the floor than a Virginia region can offer, and we always keep an on-site tier for the functions that have to survive the WAN link to the building going down, because a dock that cannot receive is an outage no matter how healthy the cloud region is.

Why Choose Us

Why Atlanta Businesses Choose Codazz for ERP Development

We combine world-class engineering with local market understanding to deliver erp development solutions that drive real business outcomes.

🏭

Built For Georgia Manufacturing

Sequenced supply, kanban, consignment and ASN logic for the tier-one and tier-two base around the Hyundai Metaplant in Ellabell and the Kia plant in West Point, with exception handling designed for the day a truck misses its delivery window rather than the day everything works.

🛡️

Export Control Handled Honestly

We run an ITAR and EAR screen in discovery and split the work. Controlled technical data stays with your US-person staff or is scoped out. Non-controlled finance, procurement and HR workstreams proceed normally. We say this before the statement of work, not after.

🚢

Port And Trading Partner Ready

X12 850, 855, 856 and 810 over AS2 or VAN, EDIFACT for ocean carriers, and landed cost that reconciles against actual customs entries. Built for shippers moving through Savannah and Brunswick and for retail and automotive partners who deduct on document errors.

🔁

Two Mock Cutovers, Always

Phased go-live by site or entity, legacy readable for two closing cycles, and two full timed rehearsals with inventory counts, ledger reconciliation and a real abort criterion. Plus a printed manual receiving and shipping process the dock can run for 24 hours.

Frequently Asked Questions About ERP Development in Atlanta

Ask a Question

Scope-tied ranges only. A focused extension project on an ERP the client already owns, meaning a handful of custom modules, two or three integrations and a reporting layer, typically runs USD 60,000 to 175,000 over ten to sixteen weeks. A single-entity implementation or replacement for a mid-market distributor or manufacturer, including chart of accounts design, master data cleanup, migration, EDI onboarding for the top trading partners, two mock cutovers and training, typically runs USD 250,000 to 750,000. A multi-site or multi-entity program with plant-floor integration, warehouse execution, consolidated reporting and a phased rollout across locations runs USD 750,000 to 2.5 million and up, and at that size the software licensing usually exceeds our fee. Remediation of a failed go-live is the hardest to bound and typically starts around USD 150,000 because the first month is diagnosis. The variable that moves an ERP quote most is the condition of your master data, so we sample the item master, bills of material and vendor records during estimation rather than finding out what state they are in after the contract is signed. We quote fixed fee per phase against a signed statement of work, and we separate license, implementation and data remediation on the estimate so the numbers are legible.

By transaction shape and by what the business will actually maintain. If you are a multinational with statutory reporting in several countries, intercompany complexity and a large treasury function, SAP S/4HANA or Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP is the honest answer and the licensing cost is the price of that reach. If you are a single-country manufacturer or distributor between roughly 50 million and 1 billion dollars in revenue and your organization already runs on Microsoft, Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management usually wins because your admins can maintain it and Power Platform gives you a supported extension path. Infor CloudSuite and Epicor Kinetic are strong where industry-specific process manufacturing or discrete shop-floor logic is the core need and you want less configuration work. Acumatica fits project-based construction and distribution well. NetSuite fits distributors, studios and services firms whose complexity is financial rather than operational. Odoo is defensible where you want the source and have engineers to own it. What we will not do is recommend the platform whose consulting practice pays best. The question we ask first is which system your controller and your plant IT lead can still run in five years without us.

It changes where your data can live and who can touch it. The CMMC Program final rule was published in the Federal Register on 15 October 2024 at 89 FR 83092 and took effect 16 December 2024. The acquisition side followed: the DFARS rule implementing CMMC in contracts, DFARS Case 2019-D041, was published 10 September 2025 at 90 FR 43560 and took effect 10 November 2025, which is what puts the requirement into new solicitations. If your ERP stores or processes Controlled Unclassified Information, and for most Lockheed Martin Marietta or Warner Robins suppliers it does through drawings, specifications, quantities and delivery schedules, then that ERP is in your assessment scope and must meet the NIST SP 800-171 control set at CMMC Level 2. Practically, this drives three decisions early. First, whether CUI lives in the ERP at all or in a segregated enclave with the ERP holding only non-CUI references. Second, whether the hosting region and the cloud service provider offering meet the required protections. Third, who administers the system, because access control and personnel screening are assessed. We design to keep assessment scope as small as defensibly possible, since every additional system in scope is additional cost at every reassessment.

Not without authorization, and we will tell you that before the statement of work rather than after. ITAR at 22 CFR Parts 120 through 130 treats release of controlled technical data to a foreign person as an export, including release inside the United States, and that includes a database administrator in another country reading a table that contains it. Codazz delivers from Edmonton, Canada and Chandigarh, India. Our engineers are not US persons by default. So on any engagement involving a defense supplier we run an export control screen in discovery and split the work. Workstreams that touch ITAR technical data are either performed by the client's own cleared or US-person staff with us providing design, documentation and code review of non-controlled artifacts, or they are scoped out entirely. Workstreams that do not touch controlled data, which is usually the majority of an ERP program including finance, procurement of commercial items, HR and general reporting, proceed normally. The same logic applies to CUI under CMMC and to EAR-controlled items at 15 CFR Parts 730 to 774. Vendors who wave this away are creating a violation that lands on your registration, not theirs. We would rather lose the workstream than create that exposure.

By refusing to do a single big-bang cutover unless the business genuinely has no alternative. Our default is phased by site, by legal entity or by module, with the legacy system kept readable for at least two closing cycles. Before go-live we run two full mock cutovers against production-scale data, each timed to the minute, each ending in a general ledger reconciliation and a physical inventory count against system quantities. Each mock has a defined abort criterion and we have aborted mocks, which is the point of running them. The cutover plan itself is a task-level runbook with owners, durations, dependencies and a hard go or no-go checkpoint before the point of no return. Open orders, in-transit inventory, partially received purchase orders and work in process are the four categories that cause most cutover pain, and we build explicit reconciliation reports for each rather than trusting the migration tool. Trading partner EDI is cut over with a parallel period where both systems produce documents and we compare them before switching the partner. Finally we plan for degraded operation: a documented manual process for receiving and shipping that a supervisor can run for 24 hours without the ERP, printed and physically present at the dock.

By designing controls into the configuration rather than documenting them afterwards. For a public company in metro Atlanta, and there are many, the ERP is the primary system of record for internal control over financial reporting under Sarbanes-Oxley section 404. That means segregation of duties enforced in role design rather than in policy, so the person who creates a vendor cannot also approve a payment to it, and role conflicts are reported continuously rather than discovered at audit. It means change management with an auditable trail from ticket to code to approval to deployment, which is why we insist on source control and a real release pipeline even on platforms where clicking in production is technically possible. On revenue, ASC 606 fails most often at the performance obligation level: multi-element arrangements, variable consideration and contract modifications are where distributors and software-attached manufacturers get restated. We model those in the system, not in a spreadsheet bolted onto the close. ASC 842 lease accounting gets the same treatment. We also build the evidence artifacts auditors ask for as standard reports, including user access reviews, journal entry approval trails and interface reconciliation reports, so producing them takes an hour rather than a week.
