Cloud & DevOps Services We Offer in Berlin
Berlin's cloud market splits between scale-ups chasing rapid throughput on AWS and AKS, and Mittelstand plus public sector clients demanding sovereign deployment with BSI C5 attestation. Our services cover both ends. We design AWS landing zones with Control Tower across eu-central-1 (Frankfurt) and eu-central-2 (Zurich) for active-active failover, Azure landing zones on Germany West Central with Azure Policy mapped to the BSI C5 controls catalogue, and GCP Anthos deployments spanning europe-west3 and europe-central2. For KRITIS operators (energy, water, telecoms, healthcare, finance) we layer T-Systems Open Sovereign Cloud or Delos Cloud where hyperscaler exposure is unacceptable. Every platform ships with Terraform modules, OPA Gatekeeper policies, and a documented disaster recovery runbook that the BSI auditor and the NIS2 incident reporting workflow can actually consume.
Our Cloud & DevOps Development Process
We work on CET hours from our Berlin-aligned hubs in Edmonton and Chandigarh, with synchronous standups for Berlin product and platform leads instead of overnight ticket queues. Discovery opens with a sovereignty workshop (hyperscaler, sovereign cloud, hybrid, or on-prem) and a KRITIS or NIS2 applicability review if the workload touches critical infrastructure. Architecture decisions are recorded in ADRs, landing zones are provisioned through Terraform with BSI C5 control mappings baked into the module library, and GitOps pipelines deploy through ArgoCD with mandatory policy gates. Cutover sprints run two weeks, reviewed against a runbook the BSI auditor and your CISO can sign without a second consulting engagement. Post go-live we hand over a documented operating model rather than locking you into a managed service contract.
Infrastructure Assessment
1-2 WeeksWe audit your current infrastructure, identify bottlenecks, evaluate cloud readiness, and design a target architecture with cost projections.
Architecture Design
1-2 WeeksDesign the cloud architecture following AWS Well-Architected Framework principles with networking, security, and high-availability configurations.
Implementation & Migration
4-8 WeeksProvision infrastructure with IaC, set up CI/CD pipelines, containerize applications, and execute the migration with rollback strategies.
Testing & Validation
1-2 WeeksLoad testing, failover testing, security scanning, and performance benchmarking to validate the new infrastructure meets all requirements.
Monitoring & Handoff
1 WeekSet up comprehensive monitoring with alerting, create runbooks for common operations, and train your team on managing the new infrastructure.
Technologies We Use for Cloud & DevOps
Berlin workloads default to AWS eu-central-1 (Frankfurt) as primary with eu-central-2 (Zurich) for DR, Azure Germany West Central with Germany North as paired region, and GCP europe-west3 (Frankfurt) with europe-central2 (Warsaw) for EU-resident failover. Sovereign deployments use T-Systems Open Sovereign Cloud, Delos Cloud (the SAP and Arvato joint venture targeting public sector), or IONOS Cloud for fully German-operated control planes. Container orchestration is Kubernetes on EKS, AKS, or GKE with Karpenter or Cluster Autoscaler. Service mesh is Istio or Linkerd when latency budgets allow. Infrastructure as code is Terraform with Terragrunt, Pulumi when TypeScript fits the team, and Crossplane for control-plane-as-code. Observability runs on Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, and OpenTelemetry, with Datadog or New Relic only where the client has an existing contract.
