Service Overview

Blockchain & Web3 Development Solutions for Warsaw Businesses

Warsaw and the broader Polish ecosystem have produced an outsized slice of the European Web3 stack. Polkadot and Kusama were founded by Gavin Wood after his work at Ethereum, and a significant share of the Polkadot, Substrate, and parachain engineering community is Polish, including teams at Web3 Foundation, Parity Technologies, and Aleph Zero (Warsaw-headquartered L1). Ramp Network, founded in Warsaw, operates one of Europe's most-used fiat-to-crypto onramps. Zonda (formerly BitBay) is one of the longest-running Polish-licensed crypto exchanges and was among the first to register under Polish AML rules. CD Projekt has explored Web3 in The Witcher universe, Polish PhDs lead zero-knowledge research at zk-rollup teams, and Synthetix, Aave, and other major DeFi protocols rely heavily on Polish contributors. Codazz builds production blockchain and Web3 systems for Warsaw founders, exchanges, fintechs, gaming studios, and enterprise teams operating in this market. We ship smart contracts in Solidity and Rust, custodial and non-custodial wallets, fiat onramps integrated with Ramp and MoonPay, NFT and tokenisation pipelines, and zk-proof systems where the underlying cryptography matters. Every engagement respects KNF (Komisja Nadzoru Finansowego) AML and CFT registration requirements (mandatory for VASPs in Poland since November 2021), the EU MiCA regulation (fully applicable from December 2024), GDPR under UODO, and Polish tax authority crypto reporting rules. Our New York morning and Chandigarh evening hubs deliver fixed-fee builds priced in PLN.

What We Build

Blockchain & Web3 Development Services We Offer in Warsaw

Warsaw Web3 buyers expect technical depth, not whitepaper theatre. Aleph Zero has shipped a production L1 with ZK privacy primitives, Ramp processes billions in fiat onramp volume from a Warsaw HQ, and Zonda has operated under Polish AML supervision longer than most EU exchanges. Our services mirror that bar. We build smart contracts in Solidity (for EVM chains — Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base) and Rust (for Substrate, Solana, NEAR), with full Foundry or Hardhat test coverage and at least one external audit before mainnet (Trail of Bits, OpenZeppelin, Spearbit, or Polish auditors like Composable Security). We ship custodial wallets with Fireblocks or BitGo integration, non-custodial wallets on Privy or Magic, fiat onramps via Ramp, MoonPay, or Banxa, and zero-knowledge work using Circom, Halo2, or Risc Zero where the proof system is load-bearing.

Industry Expertise

Blockchain & Web3 Development for Warsaw's Key Industries

Three Warsaw Web3 verticals dominate our pipeline. Exchanges and onramps is first: Zonda, BitClude, kanga.exchange, and several smaller Polish VASPs run live KNF-registered businesses, while Ramp Network and Transak operate cross-border onramps with Polish engineering. We have built KYC pipelines, multi-jurisdiction AML rule engines, and fiat settlement integrations under Polish AML Act, EU MiCA, and EU AMLR (Regulation, not Directive — fully applicable from 2027) requirements. Web3 gaming and NFT is second: CD Projekt has explored Web3, Polish indie studios (Bloober, Techland, plus smaller crypto-native teams) run NFT and on-chain asset pipelines, and Immutable, Polygon CDK, and Arbitrum Orbit are common L2 choices for game economies. DeFi infrastructure is third: Polish engineering teams contribute heavily to Synthetix, Aave, Polkadot parachains, and zk-rollup research — we build adjacent tooling, dashboards, and integrations for these protocols.

Our Process

Our Blockchain & Web3 Development Development Process

We run a five-stage engagement aligned to Polish Web3 governance. Discovery is two weeks: scope, KNF VASP registration status check, MiCA classification (the protocol may need CASP authorisation under MiCA from 2025), AML and KYC vendor selection (Sumsub is dominant in Poland; Veriff and Onfido also common), and a smart contract threat model. Architecture and design is three to four weeks. Build is six to twelve weeks depending on contract complexity, with continuous Foundry or Hardhat testing, gas profiling, and internal review. Audit is two to four weeks externally — we coordinate with Trail of Bits, OpenZeppelin, Spearbit, Sigma Prime, or Polish-based Composable Security. Mainnet launch is one to two weeks with monitoring on OpenZeppelin Defender, Tenderly, and Forta. All pricing is fixed-fee in PLN with milestone payments, and IP transfers cleanly under Polish law.

Why Choose Us

Why Warsaw Businesses Choose Codazz for Blockchain & Web3 Development

We combine world-class engineering with local market understanding to deliver blockchain & web3 development solutions that drive real business outcomes.

⛓️

Polkadot & Substrate Depth

Polkadot, Aleph Zero, and the broader Substrate ecosystem run on heavy Polish engineering — Web3 Foundation, Parity, and Aleph Zero (Warsaw-HQ L1). We ship Rust runtime code and ink! smart contracts, not just frontend wrappers. ZK work on Circom, Halo2, and Risc Zero with Polish research depth.

📋

KNF & MiCA Compliant

VASP registration with the Polish tax administration has been mandatory since November 2021, and MiCA CASP authorisation under KNF is now live. We produce written classification, MiCA-aligned technical documentation, and integrate AML on Sumsub plus Chainalysis or TRM Labs from day one — not as an afterthought.

💱

Ramp Network Integration

Ramp is Warsaw-founded and one of Europe's lowest-fee fiat onramps for PLN and EUR. We integrate Ramp SDK, plus MoonPay, Banxa, Transak, and Mercuryo, with KYC tier design and AML rule wiring under Polish AML Act and the upcoming EU AMLR. PSD2 SEPA Instant direct rails when volumes justify.

🛡️

Audit-First Security

DeFi has lost $7B+ to exploits since 2021. We run threat modelling, 95 percent Foundry coverage with invariant testing, Slither and Certora static analysis, plus external audit by Trail of Bits, OpenZeppelin, Spearbit, or Composable Security before mainnet. Post-deployment monitoring on OpenZeppelin Defender, Forta, and Tenderly.

Frequently Asked Questions About Blockchain & Web3 Development in Warsaw

Ask a Question

Contract surface and test depth set the number on Warsaw protocol work: a scoped smart contract build (single-purpose protocol — staking, vesting, NFT minting, simple AMM), larger DeFi protocols, on-chain games, or cross-chain bridges, or fiat onramp integrations with Ramp, MoonPay, or Banxa. Scope drivers include Foundry test coverage, one external audit, and mainnet deployment. External audits are usually PLN 80,000 to PLN 350,000 depending on auditor (Trail of Bits and OpenZeppelin sit at the high end; Composable Security and other Polish auditors at the lower end). Warsaw pricing runs 35 to 50 percent below London or Berlin for equivalent quality.

Since November 2021, any virtual asset service provider (VASP) operating in Poland must register with the Director of the Tax Administration Chamber in Katowice (Dyrektor Izby Administracji Skarbowej w Katowicach) and comply with Polish AML Act obligations. Activities triggering registration include crypto exchange, custody, fiat-to-crypto and crypto-to-crypto swaps, and crypto wallet provision on a commercial basis. Under EU MiCA (fully applicable from 30 December 2024 for CASPs), this expands to a CASP authorisation regime under KNF (the Polish Financial Supervision Authority), with transitional periods running into 2026 in Poland. Our discovery phase produces a written classification of which activities your product triggers, what registration or authorisation path applies, and what timeline is realistic. Final legal sign-off and filing sit with your in-house counsel or external Polish law firm (Dentons Warsaw, Wardyński, or DLA Piper Poland).

Yes. MiCA (Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation, EU 2023/1114) is the most consequential European crypto regulation in a decade, and it applies directly across member states without national transposition. Our MiCA build pattern covers four pillars. First, asset-referenced and e-money token issuance requires reserve assets, whitepaper publication, and ongoing supervision under EBA (for stablecoins) or national competent authorities. Second, CASPs (Crypto Asset Service Providers) require authorisation from KNF in Poland, with capital, governance, and ICT risk requirements that overlap with DORA. Third, market abuse rules now apply to crypto markets — insider lists, suspicious transaction reporting, and order book surveillance. Fourth, technical standards on prudential safeguards, custody segregation, and complaints handling. We deliver technical documentation aligned with MiCA Annexes I, II, V, and VI, and integrate with vendors that can attest to MiCA compliance.

DeFi has lost more than $7 billion to smart contract exploits since 2021 — Wormhole, Ronin, Nomad, Euler, Curve, and dozens more. Our security pattern runs in five layers. First, threat modelling during architecture (every external call, every privileged function, every upgrade path is documented and reviewed). Second, Foundry test coverage at 95 percent or higher, including invariant testing on stateful properties (no underflow, no unauthorised mint, total supply conservation). Third, static analysis via Slither, Mythril, and Aderyn, plus formal verification with Certora or Halmos where the protocol's invariants are tractable. Fourth, an external audit by Trail of Bits, OpenZeppelin, Spearbit, Sigma Prime, or Composable Security — never self-audited for production. Fifth, post-deployment monitoring on OpenZeppelin Defender, Forta, and Tenderly with automated pause and rollback playbooks. We will not ship without these.

Yes. Ramp Network is Warsaw-founded, processes large volumes of EU fiat-to-crypto, and offers some of the lowest fees on PLN and EUR onramping into major chains. Integration uses the Ramp SDK (embeddable widget) or hosted flow with deep-link return URLs, with KYC handled by Ramp's own pipeline so the merchant inherits Ramp's CASP authorisation rather than building its own. We have also integrated MoonPay (broader currency coverage, higher fees), Banxa (strong APAC and AU coverage), Transak (good UK and EU coverage), and Mercuryo. For exchanges and high-volume products we build direct PSD2 SEPA Instant rails through banking-as-a-service providers (Solaris, Modulr, ClearBank) with own KYC, but the lift is significantly higher and only justifies itself above a few hundred million PLN in annual volume.

Yes. Polkadot is closely associated with Polish engineering — Gavin Wood, Web3 Foundation, Parity Technologies, and Aleph Zero (Warsaw L1) all have heavy Polish technical depth. Our Rust capability covers Substrate development (custom parachains, pallets, runtime upgrades, XCMP), ink! smart contracts on Polkadot Asset Hub and Aleph Zero, and the broader Cosmos and NEAR Rust ecosystems by extension. We also handle zero-knowledge work on Circom, Halo2, and Risc Zero — Poland has produced several leading ZK researchers, and we collaborate with University of Warsaw and Polish Academy of Sciences-adjacent contributors when projects need cryptographic depth. Our developers ship runtime-level Substrate code, not just frontend wrappers, and we have contributed to Polkadot ecosystem repositories under permissive licences.

Polish AML Act (Ustawa o przeciwdziałaniu praniu pieniędzy oraz finansowaniu terroryzmu) implements the EU AML Directive and applies fully to VASPs since 2021. EU AMLR (the new Anti-Money Laundering Regulation, fully applicable from 2027) will further harmonise rules across member states. Our AML stack runs Sumsub (Polish market default) for KYC and ongoing customer due diligence, Chainalysis or TRM Labs for transaction monitoring and address screening (OFAC, EU consolidated, UK OFSI sanctions lists, plus risk scoring on counterparty wallets), and a rules engine in our backend that escalates suspicious transactions for human review and STR filing with the General Inspector of Financial Information (GIIF) in Warsaw. The Travel Rule (FATF Recommendation 16) is implemented through Notabene or Sumsub Travel Rule, depending on counterparty support.

Polish crypto taxation is now codified — capital gains on crypto-to-fiat (and crypto-to-goods) are taxed at 19 percent flat, with a single combined annual return (PIT-38). Crypto-to-crypto trades are not taxable events under current Polish rules (this is unusual relative to many EU member states and is a real advantage for Polish residents trading actively). Businesses operating as CASPs or VASPs have separate corporate tax reporting on PLN-denominated income. From 2026 onward, DAC8 (the EU Directive on Administrative Cooperation extending CRS to crypto-assets) will require Polish-licensed CASPs to report customer transaction data annually to the Polish tax authority (KAS) for automatic exchange with other EU member states. Our reporting builds support this requirement with structured transaction exports, customer tax residency confirmation, and DAC8-compatible XML output.
