Cloud & DevOps Services We Offer in Auckland
The Auckland cloud market expects engineering that respects sovereignty, latency, and the GCDO's risk-based cloud framework. Xero set the local bar for SaaS at AWS scale with global multi-region resilience, Air New Zealand has rebuilt loyalty, booking, and operations workloads onto AWS, Fonterra runs IoT-to-cloud at supplier-farm scale, and Spark sells its own managed cloud against the hyperscalers from CCL facilities in Auckland, Hamilton, and Christchurch. Our cloud and DevOps services mirror that standard. We design landing zones on AWS ap-southeast-2 (Sydney) and the new AWS Auckland ap-southeast-6 region for in-country residency, on Microsoft Azure Australia East and New Zealand North (Auckland, CDC partnership), and on Google Cloud australia-southeast1 with Southern Cross cable peering for latency-sensitive workloads. We build platform engineering practices with golden paths, GitOps on Argo CD or Flux, policy as code with Open Policy Agent, NZISM-aligned guardrails, and CIS Benchmarks Level 2 controls baked into the pipeline. Every engagement includes an NZISM control map, a Privacy Act 2020 Privacy Impact Assessment hook, a GCDO Cloud Risk Assessment template, and a CCL or Datacom hybrid pattern where in-country physical residency is non-negotiable for health, education, or Crown workloads.
Our Cloud & DevOps Development Process
We run discovery, design, build, and deployment on NZST hours so Auckland CIOs, programme leads, and Crown agency sponsors get synchronous standups, not overnight handoffs. Discovery opens with a Public Service Information Classification review (UNCLASSIFIED, IN-CONFIDENCE, SENSITIVE, RESTRICTED, CONFIDENTIAL), an NZISM control gap analysis, a GCDO Cloud Risk Assessment scoring (residency, latency, vendor lock-in, integration, sustainability), a Privacy Act 2020 review where personal information is in scope, and an RBNZ BS11 review where the client is a registered bank or licensed deposit-taker. Build sprints are two weeks, reviewed against a New Zealand Government Enterprise Architecture (NZGEA) decision record set and the All-of-Government cloud framework. Deployment uses blue-green and canary patterns inside AWS Auckland availability zones, Azure New Zealand North zones, or cross-Tasman to Australia East and ap-southeast-2 where disaster recovery requires a second jurisdiction. Rollback plans, change tickets, and incident playbooks are written so an Office of the Auditor-General or internal audit review can follow the trail without a second vendor engagement. Pricing is fixed-fee in NZD, with GST handled at invoice.
Infrastructure Assessment
1-2 WeeksWe audit your current infrastructure, identify bottlenecks, evaluate cloud readiness, and design a target architecture with cost projections.
Architecture Design
1-2 WeeksDesign the cloud architecture following AWS Well-Architected Framework principles with networking, security, and high-availability configurations.
Implementation & Migration
4-8 WeeksProvision infrastructure with IaC, set up CI/CD pipelines, containerize applications, and execute the migration with rollback strategies.
Testing & Validation
1-2 WeeksLoad testing, failover testing, security scanning, and performance benchmarking to validate the new infrastructure meets all requirements.
Monitoring & Handoff
1 WeekSet up comprehensive monitoring with alerting, create runbooks for common operations, and train your team on managing the new infrastructure.
Technologies We Use for Cloud & DevOps
Auckland cloud workloads now have a real in-country choice for the first time, and we use it. We default to AWS Auckland ap-southeast-6 and AWS Sydney ap-southeast-2 for production resilience pairs, Microsoft Azure New Zealand North (Auckland, CDC partnership) and Australia East (Sydney) for the Microsoft estate, and Google Cloud australia-southeast1 in Sydney when GCP is the strategic platform. Compute defaults to EC2, EKS, ECS, Fargate, and Lambda on AWS, AKS, App Service, Container Apps, and Functions on Azure, and GKE, Cloud Run, and Cloud Functions on GCP. Data sits on Amazon RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, Redshift, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Synapse, BigQuery, and Spanner with cross-region replication tuned to NZISM residency. Identity uses Microsoft Entra ID NZ tenants, AWS IAM Identity Center, and integration with RealMe where citizen-facing services are in scope. Observability uses CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Microsoft Sentinel, Google Cloud Operations, Datadog (Sydney region), and New Relic (Auckland POPs). CI and CD run on GitHub Enterprise Cloud Australia, GitLab self-managed on Australia East, Azure DevOps Services Australia, and Buildkite (Melbourne HQ, NZ-friendly). Pipelines enforce policy as code, signed artefacts, and SBOM generation aligned with NZISM control 14.1.8. Pricing defaults to NZD with GST handled at invoice.
