AI & Machine Learning Services We Offer in Zurich
Zurich AI buyers do not need another generic LLM pitch. Google Zurich set the European bar on Search and Assistant ML, IBM Rüschlikon ships the quantum-AI heritage stack, and ETH and EPFL graduate hires staff Swiss bank AI teams. Our services mirror that standard. We build RAG and agent systems on Anthropic Claude through Bedrock eu-central-2, Azure OpenAI Switzerland North, OpenAI through Microsoft's Swiss residency, Cohere EU and Aleph Alpha Luminous when German and Swiss-language depth matters, and self-hosted Llama 3.3, Mistral, and Qwen2.5 on H100 clusters in Zurich and Geneva when FINMA outsourcing rules or FADP cross-border obligations rule out US-hosted frontier APIs. Classical ML (XGBoost, LightGBM, CatBoost) handles tabular work in wealth management, insurance underwriting, and reinsurance where Article 21 FADP (automated individual decisions, equivalent to GDPR Article 22) requires human review. Every engagement ships with a model card, a bias and fairness audit, an FADP DPIA, and a FINMA Circular 18/3 outsourcing classification.
Our AI & Machine Learning Development Process
Discovery, design, build, and deployment run on CET so Zurich product, compliance, and risk leads get synchronous standups, not overnight handoffs. Week one opens with a dual FADP and EU AI Act classification (Switzerland is not in the EU but most Swiss enterprises export to the EU and are bound by EU AI Act Article 2 territorial scope when outputs are used inside the EU), plus a FINMA Circular 18/3 outsourcing review when the engagement covers a bank, insurer, or financial-market infrastructure. FINMA Circular 17/2 corporate governance, FINMA Circular 23/1 operational risk and resilience, and FINMA's 2023 risk monitor on AI shape the controls. Build sprints are two weeks, reviewed against a model card template aligned with FADP, FINMA, and the EU AI Act conformity-assessment template. Deployment includes drift monitoring, an Article 21 FADP human-review pathway, and a documented rollback plan FINMA and the EDÖB (Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner) can audit.
AI Opportunity Assessment
1-2 WeeksWe audit your data, workflows, and business goals to identify the highest-impact AI use cases and evaluate technical feasibility.
Data Engineering & Preparation
2-4 WeeksWe clean, label, and structure your data for model training. This includes building data pipelines, feature engineering, and establishing data quality benchmarks.
Model Development & Training
4-8 WeeksOur ML engineers build, train, and fine-tune models using state-of-the-art techniques. We run experiments, optimize hyperparameters, and validate results.
Integration & Testing
2-4 WeeksWe integrate the AI model into your existing systems via APIs, build monitoring dashboards, and conduct thorough testing with real-world data.
Deployment & MLOps
1-2 WeeksProduction deployment with automated retraining pipelines, model versioning, drift detection, and performance monitoring for continuous improvement.
Technologies We Use for AI & Machine Learning
Zurich AI workloads need Swiss-resident or EU-resident inference depending on the regulatory posture. We default to AWS eu-central-2 (Zurich, launched November 2022, the only hyperscaler region inside Switzerland for AWS until GCP europe-west6 also landed in Zurich) for FINMA outsourcing-light workloads, Azure Switzerland North (Zurich) and Switzerland West (Geneva) for Microsoft estate clients, and GCP europe-west6 (Zurich) for GCP-native engineering. For LLMs that must stay in Switzerland we use Azure OpenAI Switzerland North, Anthropic Claude on Bedrock eu-central-2, or self-hosted Llama 3.3, Mistral, and DeepSeek on H100 clusters at Equinix Zurich and Interxion Zurich. Aleph Alpha Luminous handles German-Swiss-French multilingual depth when needed. MLflow, Weights and Biases (EU tenant), and SageMaker handle experiment tracking. SHAP, LIME, Captum, Aequitas, and Microsoft Fairlearn produce the explainability and fairness artefacts FINMA, EDÖB, and EU AI Act Annex IV reviewers expect.
