AR & VR Development Services We Offer in Hong Kong
Hong Kong AR and VR demand splits across five workloads, and we ship in each. Financial services immersive training and client engagement covers HSBC and Standard Chartered-class wealth management visualisation, AIA tied-agent enablement on iPad-class AR, and HKEX-style market-data immersion through Unity, Unreal, and WebXR delivered on Vision Pro, Meta Quest 3, and ROKID enterprise glasses. Luxury retail and brand activation handles Sotheby's, Christie's, and Hong Kong-based luxury maisons in Central and Tsim Sha Tsui with try-before-you-buy AR for jewellery and watches, virtual showrooms, and immersive auction previews. Real estate AR-VR for Sun Hung Kai, Henderson Land, CK Asset, and New World Development covers off-plan unit visualisation, MTR-adjacent commercial space leasing, and Greater Bay Area cross-border property marketing under the Shenzhen-Hong Kong connectivity rules. Transport and infrastructure wayfinding for MTR Corporation, Cathay Pacific, and Hong Kong International Airport delivers indoor positioning, AR overlays for crew and ground staff, and passenger experience. Industrial AR for Swire Pacific, MTR maintenance crews, and CLP Power asset inspection runs on enterprise-grade head-mounted devices.
Our AR & VR Development Development Process
Discovery starts with a Hong Kong-specific regulatory map: the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (PDPO) Cap. 486 review for any biometric, facial, eye-tracking, or behavioural data the experience captures, HKMA Supervisory Policy Manual SA-2 (Outsourcing) and TM-G-1 (General Principles for Technology Risk Management) when the AR experience touches an authorised institution, SFC requirements when the experience touches a licensed corporation or a Virtual Asset Trading Platform (VATP) under the new SFC VATP regime, OFCA and Communications Authority requirements when the experience uses spectrum or premises-based 5G, and Stablecoin Ordinance considerations where the experience touches digital asset wallets. We then run an architecture workshop in English with Cantonese and Mandarin sessions as required: device strategy (Vision Pro, Quest 3 enterprise, ROKID, Magic Leap 2, mobile AR through ARKit and ARCore, WebXR for the broadest reach), cloud platform (AWS ap-east-1 in Hong Kong as the default, ap-southeast-1 in Singapore for redundancy), spatial mapping strategy, and licensing review for any IP or talent that appears in the experience. Build sprints run two weeks with overlap on Dubai or Chandigarh time, and Hong Kong stakeholder sessions happen between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. HKT.
Concept & Feasibility
1-2 WeeksWe define the AR/VR experience, select target platforms and devices, assess technical feasibility, and create a detailed project plan.
3D Design & Storyboarding
2-4 WeeksCreate 3D assets, environment designs, interaction patterns, and storyboards that map out the complete user journey through the experience.
Development & Integration
6-10 WeeksBuild the AR/VR experience with optimized 3D rendering, spatial interactions, physics, audio, and any required backend integrations.
Testing & Optimization
2-3 WeeksDevice-specific testing, performance optimization for target hardware, comfort testing (motion sickness prevention), and usability evaluation.
Deployment & Launch
1-2 WeeksDeploy to app stores, configure WebAR hosting, set up analytics tracking, and provide training materials for your team.
Technologies We Use for AR & VR Development
Hong Kong AR and VR workloads run on a mix of game engines, native AR, and WebXR. Unity 6 and Unreal Engine 5.4 power the highest-fidelity experiences (luxury retail, real estate fly-throughs, HKEX-style market-data immersion). ARKit (iOS, iPadOS, visionOS) and ARCore (Android) handle native mobile AR for HSBC and AIA tied-agent enablement. WebXR through Three.js, Babylon.js, Needle Engine, and 8thWall covers the long tail where install-friction kills adoption — wechat-style mini-program AR, Cathay Pacific in-flight entertainment promotions, and MTR station kiosks. Spatial mapping uses Niantic Lightship VPS, Immersal, or custom-built Visual Positioning Systems trained on operator-supplied LiDAR point clouds for MTR stations and HKIA terminals. Cloud rendering through AWS WaveLength and Azure Edge Zones is used selectively for high-fidelity tethered VR where ap-east-1 latency permits. Backend on AWS ap-east-1 (Hong Kong), AWS ap-southeast-1 (Singapore), or Azure East Asia (Hong Kong) for data residency. Identity through HSBC, Standard Chartered, or SFC-licensed VATPs (OSL, HashKey) where the experience involves accounts. Analytics through Unity Cloud, Snowflake, or Databricks on ap-east-1.
